Trish Dietze ~ Owner & Lead Designer

Trish’s enjoyment of decorating and her skills as a buyer are the driving force behind the store’s unique look and instant success.   In 2001 she turned this warehouse location into the premier furniture showroom for Nevada and Northern California.  Her incredible eye for design and her keen sense of style is reflected in our eclectic and stylish merchandise.  Always in tune with changing styles as well as our clientele, Trish brings all the newest in furniture, artwork and accessories to Reno/Tahoe.

Trish began in retail over 20 years ago, opening her own men & women’s western wear store in Incline Village, NV. in the early 80’s.  She eventually changed it into a fine women’s clothing boutique and opened two more stores in the Napa Valley.

After a brief retirement spent remodeling and furnishing several homes in Lake Tahoe and the Napa Valley, Trish turned her focus to furniture and design.  Moving back to the Reno/Tahoe area from the Napa Valley, she, her husband David, and daughter, Stacy, opened Juniper Hill Furniture & Accessories in 2001.  Since then she has worked tirelessly on her clients’ projects.

Designing everything from simple living rooms, to putting together the décor for entire homes, she has enjoyed seeing rooms come together, complete with artwork hung on the wall and perfectly placed accessories.  Some of her favorite jobs have been out of the area, including Florida.

“It is fun to work on projects outside our area, because you can use styles and colors that you wouldn’t normally use here.  I had a great time collecting coastal décor for my clients in Southern California and Florida,” said Trish.

Trish & David’s home in Rutherford, CA. has been published in Sunset for both the interior design and extensive gardens – Trish’s labor of love.  They currently live in Reno and are working on yet another spectacular home and garden when not working full time at Juniper Hill Furniture.

Leona Torres  ~  Designer

Working as a design consultant at Juniper Hill for over 10 years only added to Leona’s already finely tuned design skills.  A landscape designer for 25 years before coming indoors into interior design gives Leona a well-rounded eye to the basic elements of design.

“My clients inspire me through their personality & lifestyle.”

~ Leona

Starting with the focal point of every room, she works outward from that, focusing on bringing color, pattern and texture together to form a cohesive story.  What makes her a great designer?  Ask her clients and they will tell you it is her ability to listen to their needs, and then give them permission to dream!   Leona does not want to be tied down to any one particular style of design, “I have many styles.  My clients inspire me through their personality and lifestyle.”

Leona’s advice when looking for value in your furniture investments:

  1. Buy quality merchandise
  2. Resist trends
  3. Buy off a plan

She understands that while the current economy has changed many aspects of people’s lives, it does not lessen the importance of good design.  “…while value is key, a good design will always lift spirits and offer warmth and comfort to your home.”

Stacy Hernandez   ~ Designer / Manager

Stacy co-founded Juniper Hill with her mother, Trish, sixteen years ago with the dream of building a store that is inviting to walk into, as well as enjoyable to work on creating your perfect living space in.  We have worked hard to become the luxury home store in Northern Nevada and California.  She has had the experience of working on  design jobs ranging from small homes to 18,000 square foot estates. She has also worked on two model home developments in the Reno area, as well as homes  outside of our area, ranging from California to Florida.

“My goal is to have every project look completely different from each other, that exemplifies the fact that every customer is unique, and therefore, their home should be too.”   We have so many incredible vendors, styles, fabrics and accessories to pull from, it is fun and exciting to jump into every project.”  As the rest of the Juniper Hill design team, Stacy works on customer driven designs, working within the lifestyle, financial plan and time frame of the customer.

“Someone asked me once what my favorite part of my job is, and I couldn’t choose just one thing!  I thoroughly enjoy each of my customers.  I love talking with them, and learning what they love, what they do in life and generally what makes them tick.  I guess you could say I am a ‘people person’.  Pair that with gorgeous fabrics and interesting textiles….well, I am in heaven! I have to say, I do love fabric!”  Each print stirs my imagination and gets the creative juices flowing. ”
